Simon Katz – Managing Director and Owner
Simon Katz is an expert in Strata Insurance and Strata Claims management. Simon has specialised in Strata Insurance and Strata Claims management for over 30 years.
Prior to forming Katzbergin Loss Adjusters in 2014, Simon was with CHU Insurance for 26 years, holding the National Claims Manager role from 1999 to 2014.
Simon has been hands on from day to day losses to earthquakes, multi-million dollar fires, catastrophe storm events, tunnel collapses, explosions, floods, liability cases and dispute resolution. Simon has the expertise, understanding and empathy to deal with the challenges often awaiting stakeholders in the unexpected time of need. This can involve Insurers, Brokers, Strata Managers, Lot owners, Landlords, Tenants, Building Managers, Leasing agents, Builders and other Professionals.
Simon is an Associate CIP of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIFF), Provisional Member of the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters (AICLA) and a Strata Services Specialist with Strata Community Australia (SCA) NSW. Simon has produced articles and publications for the Strata industry and presented at industry forums. Simon was an accredited trainer on Strata Insurance with the Institute of Strata Title Management (ISTM) now incorporated into SCA NSW. Simon has resided in Strata Schemes and served on Strata Committees.
Jim Bergin – Consultant
Jim Bergin has been loss adjusting for over 30 years. In recent years Jim was the Principle of Reid Bergin and Associates which commenced business in 1986. Jim has attended major loss and national disaster situations in both Australia and overseas. He is a member of the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjuster Limited (AICLA), the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) and the International Association of Arson Investigators. Jim has extensive loss adjusting experience in strata and community association properties.
Tony Jama – Consultant
Tony Jama is a qualified carpenter-joiner and clerk of works. Tony has an extensive building background which commenced in 1976. For the past 10 years Tony has been off the tools forming an integral part of ReidBergins front-line workforce. Tony’s extensive experience and grasp of building fundamentals enables an accurate account of things when most required.
